Distance is not a factor when common values exist between organizations. The Peterson Family Foundation has been a friend of Just Older Youth, even though many miles separate the Peterson Companies in Fairfax, Virginia and JOY in Plantation Key.
A major donor in the past, the Peterson Family Foundation gave JOY $10,000 this past week.
Focused on meaningful development, “Peterson Companies is committed to developing places that foster vital connections and impact our communities. You have our word.” The Peterson Family Foundation echoes the company mission in supporting programming such as the JOY Center offers.
“Creating a community center that expands and improves the life experiences of adults in the Upper Keys,” JOY’s mission, has resonated with the Peterson Family Foundation and their support is appreciated greatly. The gift comes at a time when JOY leadership is beginning an awareness campaign for membership to understand how JOY services are provided in an organization that operates solely on donations. The campaign also includes finding local business sponsors to create reliable, consistent funding to keep programming for the majority of our population, those aged 50 and above.
