Jeff Evans has been named new general manager of the Green Turtle Inn and Kaiyo Grill and Sushi. Evans brings a wealth of experience and a track record in successfully managing restaurants and Fortune 500 companies.

Having frequented the Florida Keys throughout his life, he has always dreamed of becoming a part of this picturesque community. Now, that dream has become a reality as he takes the helm of the Florida restaurants.

“Islamorada is an amazing community, and we are lucky to finally be a part of it,” Evans said. “In addition to being a sensational fishing and foodies destination, the folks we have met since arriving are terrific, super welcoming, and really fun.”

Evans is excited to build on the legacy of the eating establishments. He has been impressed with the quality of the restaurant staff, describing them as the very best he has ever had the opportunity to work with.

“I am hoping to elevate the dining experience and create even more unforgettable moments for our guests. I am grateful to be here.”

So far, the biggest challenge he has faced is expanding his workforce, which is a common one facing many establishments in the food service industry. “As we have a lot of new things happening, we have some openings both in the front and back of the house. I am confident we will find the right people once the word gets out.”

Evans already initiated changes for The Nest BBQ & Sports Bar. Starting Sept. 1, The Nest will be open seven days a week with extended hours. Patrons can look forward to weekly events, including trivia Tuesdays and live comedy shows on the last Saturday of each month, beginning Sept. 30.

“In addition to the wonderful local talent that you can catch at most sunset establishments, it will be great to bring in some fun shows that you usually don’t get to see,” Evans said. “There are also going to be some extraordinary things happening at both Kaiyo Grill and The Green Turtle, so stay tuned.”
