TROPIC CINEMA OFFERS KIDS MOVIE SERIES

Tropic Cinema recently announced its summer kids movie series starting Wednesday,  May 27 at 416 Eaton St. 

This year the series features some of Disney’s most popular classic animated films, including “Bambi,” “Fantasia” and “The Three Caballeros.” The schedule and showtimes will be posted at tropiccinema.com. 

The films will be shown on Wednesdays and Sundays at the posted times. Admission is $2 for children and accompanying adults are admitted for free. The series is underwritten by the Key West Woman’s Club. 

“Bambi,” which launched the series on May 27, will be shown again on May 31 at 3:30 p.m. 

Released in 1942 by Walt Disney Productions, “Bambi” is considered one of Disney’s most treasured animated classics. Based on the book by Felix Salten, the film follows a young deer growing up in the forest alongside his friends Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. Celebrated for its groundbreaking animation, emotional storytelling and beautiful depiction of nature, “Bambi” became one of the most influential animated films in cinema history.
