A teal golf cart with a striped-apron roof is situated on the driveway near U.S. 1 in Key Largo near MM 99, bayside. Passers-by don’t get to see much else with all the landscaping and palm trees, but behind that cart is a destination unlike any other in the Florida Keys.

Waterfront bungalows feature direct access to the semi-private beach, secluded oceanfront veranda with a deep soaking tub and private patio furnished with Adirondack chairs. Garden bungalows feature a spacious private veranda as well as an outdoor tub and shower. Units have two bikes to ride around the resort.

  • The resort boasts some 1,000 feet of shoreline, a pool and a hot tub surrounded by walls of greenery, a large pool by the waterfront, tiki bar with a view of the sunset, a boutique full-service spa, a fitness center and non-motorized water sports. Guests can also go out to see the manatees, dolphins and the sunset. They can also go snorkeling or offshore fishing.

As for cuisine, there’s fresh local seafood and Mexican food at the beachfront Sea Senor. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Fish Tales offers the tastes of the Keys as guests enjoy a view overlooking the pool and oceanfront. There’s also fine dining at Bogie & Bacall’s as well as two food trucks at the resort.

Whether wanting to put up the feet, relax or experience an action-packed itinerary across land, sea and sky, Bungalows Key Largo is delivering in every way. Steps from a guest’s bungalow are stand-up paddleboards, snorkel gear, kayaks and more — grab a toy and hit the water. On land, look for corn hole and daily sunrise yoga.
