Grassy Key’s Dolphin Research Center recently received donations of two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to protect the center’s guests and staff in the case of a sudden cardiac arrest. While one device was provided by a private donor, the other was provided courtesy of Keys AHEC with CEO Michael Cunningham. “We were advised by our local fire department staff that at least two AEDs would be ideal for our facility,” said Shane Keween, DRC’s vice president of finance. “More schools and public places are getting them because they save lives … (and) we’d love to give Keys AHEC a pat on the back.” Pictured are Keween, left, with Cunningham and the donated AEDs along with Jax, a member of DRC’s dolphin pod.
