Dolphins teaching Dolphins: Marathon cheerleaders train with pros

Marathon High School’s varsity cheerleading squad seized the chance to learn from the pros on June 13, traveling to the Miami Dolphins’ Baptist Health Training Complex for a four-hour intensive clinic with the NFL’s southernmost cheer team. The day was packed with kickline etiquette training, Football 101 lessons, dance workshops and a game-day run-through performance showcasing everything they learned throughout the camp. The Lady Fins also scored plenty of photo ops with Miami cheerleaders and met KaShara Garrett, of ‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ fame.

“As their coach and a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, the entire experience felt a little surreal,” said coach Michelle Macoskey. “I had an absolute blast watching the girls step outside their comfort zones, gain confidence and fully embrace every opportunity. They looked like they were having so much fun that I wanted to jump in and join them myself!”
