Hi friends! Reef the fox here with this week’s “Reef’s Report.”

I’m sure you are all wondering if I have calmed down and accepted Kai. Nope. I think this is going to take me a while to get used to, to be honest. But don’t you worry, as soon as I change my attitude, you all will be the first to know. Kai and Coral are like two peas in a pod. They really love each other and play every morning and every night for hours. Jasper has become a surrogate father to the young lad and Penny likes to bring Kai toys to play with. It is very sweet and I am glad they like him.

Last week, we had a visit from our friend Julie, who is the founder of LAIKA magazine out of New York City. She wrote a beautiful article about us a few months ago and decided she wanted to come meet us in person. How cool is that? We also had a visit over the weekend from our favorite treat lady, Carla. Carla owns Raw Feeding Miami and that is where mom orders all of our specialty food from. Carla brought two huge bags of treats and food for us and we’ve been eating all the snacks every day since. We have such fun friends.

This Saturday, Aug. 27, is the Critter Cruise/Crawl to benefit the Upper Keys Humane Society. The fun starts at the Caribbean Club at 11 a.m. Even if you didn’t sign up to participate, you can hang out, have a few drinks and wait for the teams to come back to see the awards ceremony. It’s always a hoot, or so I’ve heard since I’m too young to hang out at bars.

Then next Thursday, Sept. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baker’s Cay Resort, join Marr-Velous Pet Rescue for Yappy Hour. There will be raffles and retail items available, as well as some of their adorable adoptable pups. Bring your four-legged friends for a “yappy” good time.

Here at Pawsitive Beginnings, we are still looking for five more sponsors for our event in December at the $100 level. Any business or individual is able to sign up. Don’t forget to save the date. Dec. 10 is the big day, our first ever in-person fundraiser to benefit all of the foxes here. Mom has been working really hard to make this a memorable evening. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or donating anything for the raffle, you can email me at reef@pawsitivebeginnings.org.

Until next time, Reef, over and out!
