IN PICTURES: ZONTA FESTIVAL OF TREES RETURNS TO MARATHON COMMUNITY THEATRE

Peacocks, grinches and even “trees” made from fishing rods have all made their way to the Marathon Community Theatre’s gallery and playhouse for the 2021 Zonta Festival of Trees. Featuring 31 trees and six gift baskets, the event is a fundraiser to benefit Zonta and further empower women and children through service. “This event is a wonderful way to get in the Christmas spirit with the beautiful and unique Christmas trees and fun filled baskets,” said Joanne Zimmerman, MCT president and Zontian. “Come and view this spectacular wonderland of trees!” Tree viewing is open to the public from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2; from 3:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. Saturday’s viewing will also feature cookies with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon. Entry is free, and raffle tickets are available for purchase for a chance to win one of the trees or gift baskets.
