The Hale Gallery invites the public to an evening reception on Thursday, May 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. marking two milestone moments: the closing of Pasta Pantaleo’s record-breaking solo exhibition “Fins & Feathers” and the debut of a highly-anticipated collaborative painting by Pasta Pantaleo and Taylor Hale.
The centerpiece of the evening will be the unveiling of a never-before-seen original work — a 40-by-60 inch canvas that brings together two masters of the Florida Keys landscape. Taylor Hale, renowned for his luminous sky work, painted everything from the horizon up, while Pasta Pantaleo — celebrated for his dynamic underwater scenes — painted the world below the surface. In addition to the original painting, a limited offering of embellished artist proofs will be available for purchase.
“It’s an honor to share the canvas with Pasta — this idea came about a few years ago, but to finally have a chance to create it is thrilling,” Hale said. “As I was painting my portion, I felt like I had Pasta over my shoulder cheering me on to do my best. We both inspired the best out of each other on this one, and I cannot wait for people to see.”
“The location of the scene we painted is an iconic Islamorada spot that I’ve never painted before,” Pantaleo said. “This piece is a tribute to the place that we all love so much, and the community connections that make the Keys what it is.”
“Fins & Feathers,” Pasta’s solo exhibition currently on view at The Hale Gallery, has drawn exceptional response from collectors and visitors throughout its run. The May 28 reception will serve as its closing celebration. Light refreshments will be served.
