As a first-grade boy, the drag performer now known as ‘Maya Montana’ knew he was different when he started using red bubble candy to paint his lips red.

The Key West Business Guild kicked off the island’s Pride celebration with a colorful and poignant luncheon on June 2 at the Marriott Beachside Hotel.The event featured seven Key West residents, who offered powerful answers to the question, “What does Key West Pride mean to you?”
