The Key West High School student body selected Marie Willy as the Class of 2021’s Homecoming queen. Willy was crowned during a Nov. 6 ceremony at Tommy Roberts Memorial Stadium.

In addition to being president of the Class of 2021’s executive board, Willy is secretary of student council and captain of the varsity girls soccer team. Nicolas Concepcion, also a senior, was Willy’s escort for the homecoming ceremony.

Willy said she has been enthralled by the KWHS homecoming tradition since her freshman year, when she found it challenging to vote for only one candidate, as all contenders deserved the crown.

When it came to her dress, Willy said she wanted to wear “an elegant parade dress” in white. The scholar and athlete said she rarely dresses up or wears makeup, so the event was a new experience for her.

The 2020 Homecoming Court included Willy, Blondine Conserve, Julia Niles, Ryan Star Gage and Heaven Rodriguez.
