The Truman Waterfront Farmers Market is shifting its schedule to start an hour earlier. The market will now be open from 1 to 6 p.m. The change better aligns with shopping patterns and how the community uses Truman Waterfront Park.

Most vendors are fully set up and ready to serve shortly after noon, making the earlier opening ideal for lunch and unhurried browsing. The updated hours allow visitors to enjoy the market earlier in the afternoon while saving time for sunset.

The market has fresh produce from Homestead, an extensive selection of plants and orchids, artisan cheeses, breads, spreads, nuts and dried fruits, honey, pickles, desserts, local seafood, and butcher meats. In addition, local artists and small mom-and-pop businesses feature arts and crafts, handmade jewelry, clothing and accessories, bath and body products, pet treats and specialty items unique to the Keys.

A rotating lineup of prepared food vendors and food trucks includes Indian, Mediterranean, BBQ, seafood, Argentinian specialties, Mexican favorites, Colombian empanadas and traditional dishes, hot dogs and hamburgers, mini donuts, boozy pops, fresh-pressed juices and a popular coffee truck.

Families may use the children’s playground and splash pad, while others enjoy shaded green areas, the workout circuit, harbor views, dog park and a local favorite sunset stop. Steps away, the USCGC Ingham Maritime Museum, a historic cutter and national historic landmark, is open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nearby, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Eco-Discovery Center is open Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission.

Parking is available at Truman Waterfront Park and in nearby city lots. Residents with a valid residential parking permit receive up to four hours of free parking once per day in designated city lots, including Truman Waterfront. While the Duval Loop bus service is no longer operating, the city now offers Key West Rides, an on-demand shared ride service accessible through the Key West Rides app on the Apple App Store and Google Play.More informaton is at facebook.com/kwfarmersmarket.
