TRUNK OR TREAT TEMPTS TINY COPS, MONSTERS, PILOTS & PRINCESSESTRUNK OR TREAT TEMPTS TINY COPS, MONSTERS, PILOTS & PRINCESSES

Masquerade madness in Key West started last week with the adult-centered Fantasy FestHall, but Halloween was all for the half-pint superheroes, Snow Whites, SWAT officers, dinosaurs and fighter pilots.

The New Town neighborhoods around Staples and Seidenberg avenues were packed with the annual assortment of trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. But The Basilica School of St. Mary Star of the Sea started their tricks and treats much earlier in the day with the school’s annual Trunk or Treat event.

Parents, police officers and other community groups provided the party, decorating their cars and parking spaces in various themes — Barbie, Candy Land, Ghostbusters, to name a few. Costumed students in pre-k through eighth grade paraded past the cars and helped themselves to plenty of treats.
