The city of Marathon has announced the opening of the nonprofit funding application period, now until Tuesday, June 30.
The purpose of this funding is to provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations delivering programs, projects or services benefiting residents of the city of Marathon. Funding is intended to support essential community services, enhance quality of life and address documented community needs while avoiding duplication of benefits and unnecessary duplication of services.
Funding requests must be directly tied to a specific program, project or service provided within Marathon. Grant requests should be specific in scope and demonstrate nonduplication of benefits.
The link to the application is available by scanning the QR code.
City staff is offering a preliminary draft review process to help ensure applications meet state and federal compliance requirements.
A workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at 5:30 p.m. at Marathon City Hall, 9805 Overseas Highway, to provide organizations an opportunity to meet with city council, discuss the organizations and explain how grant funding would be used. Participation in the workshop is not required but is highly recommended.
