“Rain is the type of player who makes those around her look good. I rely on her for a lot and she shoulders the responsibility without complaint. Rain does not make excuses; she makes plays, often doing so under double and even triple-team pressure.” – Marathon coach Tracy McDonald
Marathon’s Rain Banks has been a staple for the Lady Fins since her first appearance on the varsity roster in the 6th grade. A five-year letterwoman, the junior is in her second year serving as team captain, leading the offense from her role as midfielder. Banks is first for the Fins in scoring this season with 17 goals and seven assists, four of which were against Cushman School on Jan. 11. For her solid gameplay and unwavering leadership, Rain Banks is this week’s Keys Weekly Athlete of the Week.
