DIVE REPORT: ANNUAL EVENT CELEBRATES THE WOMEN DIVERS IN THE WORLD

A group of women divers explore the depths. PADI Women’s Dive Day is Saturday, July 16. MORRIS DIVING/Contributed

Conditions out on the Florida Keys waters continue to be nothing short of amazing as we move into mid-July. We’ve had some light winds, but divers encountered some fantastic visibility as they explored the depths last week. Light winds and incredible water clarity has been the norm lately, and we couldn’t be happier.

CALM KEYS WEATHER

This coming week, we’ll again experience Keys summer weather. With calm waters, sun shining and a beautiful blue, there’s no better time to get out and dive.

PADI WOMEN’S DIVE DAY

Saturday, July 16 is PADI Women’s Dive Day. It’s grown into one of the most celebrated days of diving on the planet. For eight years, the dive community has come together to encourage divers of all ages, genders, backgrounds and abilities to confidently explore and protect the ocean. At Islamorada Dive Center and Florida Keys Dive Center, we offer a discounted rate and cool swag to all women diving with us. Give us a call if you’re interested.

Conservation Tip

Unfortunately, trash makes its way into our oceans and on to our reefs. When you go diving, bring along some shears and a mesh bag. When you see some fishing line you need to cut off the coral you’ll be ready.

I.CARE Tip

I.CARE planted corals at Rocky Top reef last Saturday and we’ll be planting more this Saturday, July 16 out of Islamorada Dive Center. Locals plant for free.
