Jose Gomes, Miguel Martinez and Benjamin Levine with Team Storks took the ride from Wilton Manors.

Bikes poured into Key West High School for the Smart Ride event on Nov. 15 in which participants road their bikes all the way from Miami to Key West in a two day period. The ride is for a good cause, to prevent and treat AIDS with 100 percent of the proceeds going to organizations and research for the disease. A record $1,109,914.00 was raised in this year’s ride. Monroe County’s own AIDS Help shares in the proceeds.
