The musicians of Marathon High School entertained family, friends and classmates on May 12 with a 12-piece concert to close the spring semester. Working from Broadway show tunes to medley compositions, the evening showcased nearly 50 students across the school’s beginning, advanced and jazz bands, along with a farewell to seniors Elizabeth Vanderlee (saxophone) and Christopher Paul (guitar/saxophone).

“We’ve had a very successful year, and I was excited for them,” conductor Paul Anderson told the Weekly. “It was a tough program, and these kids really rose to the occasion – they went over and above.”
