No matter how many individuals appear in the pages of each edition of Keys Weekly, there are always so many more of our community members who deserve to be recognized. In an effort to shine a spotlight on more of the incredible individuals who live and work in these islands, Keys Weekly is proud to present our Neighbor of the Week feature, dedicated to celebrating a community member with each issue.

Our Neighbor of the Week is Heather Faust Dworniczak, a dedicated 32-year resident of the Keys who first moved to the islands from Miami with her parents. Heather has served with the U.S. Postal Service for over 25 years while remaining deeply devoted to her family. When she isn’t working, she treasures quality time with her children and parents, often enjoying her favorite pastimes of traveling or relaxing during local beach days.

What is your greatest fear? Definitely heights.

What’s one thing that appears on many menus, but you won’t try? Mustard.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why? My grey hair. It’s an extra chore every month.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? A dog. I love them all, especially my Honey Bunny.

What’s the pettiest thing that annoys you? There aren’t enough shooting stars.

If you could make one law what would it be? For child abusers to never get out of jail.

If you had to give a TED talk on a totally random topic what would it be? How important it is to be involved in our children’s lives.

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened to you at work? Being there for over 25 years.

What’s a habit you’d love to break? Ice cream.

What is your most treasured possession? My two daughters, Ariella and Adrianna.

What’s a simple pleasure that brings you joy? Dinner and talking at the table with my kids every night.

What’s a secret about you that people might be surprised to learn? I can’t stand wrinkled clothes.
