Casting for Cats is searching for the stars for its 2027 “Catlendar” and is inviting cat lovers throughout the Keys and beyond to submit photos of their favorite feline for a chance to be featured.
The nonprofit organization will select 12 cats to appear in the 2027 calendar, with one featured for each month. Whether a cat is playful, photogenic, full of “cattitude” or has an inspiring rescue story, every feline has a chance to become a “Catlendar” star.
Participants may post their favorite cat photo on the Casting for Cats Facebook page or tag @castingforcats on Instagram and use #cfcatlendar2027. Please include the cat’s name, age and a little about their “purr-sonality” or story. Friends and family are encouraged to like, comment and share submissions to show their support.
The casting call closes Sept. 7, and the 12 winning cats will be unveiled during the Casting for Cats Kickoff on Oct. 16, just before the organization’s annual Casting for Cats backcountry fishing tournament on Oct. 17 in Islamorada.
Proceeds from Catlendar sales help support Casting for Cats’ mission of reducing the feral cat population in the Upper Keys through spay/neuter programs, rescue efforts, fostering and adoptions.
“We know every cat has a story,” said Sharon Mahoney, founder of Casting for Cats. “This is a fun way for our community to celebrate the cats they love while helping raise funds that make a real difference for homeless and feral cats in the Upper Keys.”
