Key West’s Pride celebration takes place June 2-6 with a diverse array of events and venues. CONTRIBUTED

With Key West Pride approaching, the Key West Business Guild invites local artists to submit a symbol of pride in their medium of choice. All submissions will be entered in the art competition, then auctioned off, with proceeds to benefit the guild and their efforts with the LGBTQ+ community. Artwork must be completed and submitted to the guild at 808 Duval St. by Friday, May 28, to be photographed and posted for the start of Key West Pride the following week. For more information, contact Dorian at 305-731-3446 or email dpattonevo@gmail.com.

The Key West Business Guild will hold an April mixer at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14. Hosted by Nail Bar & Lounge, 1075 Duval St., the gathering will be an evening of membership and networking, and will include food, wine, beer and raffles. The indoor/outdoor venue will have plenty of parking, and the hosts ask that masks be worn. Tickets are $10 for guild members and $20 for non-members. To prepay, go to gaykeywestfl.com, click on the “About Us” link, then scroll down for the list of mixers.

The guild is also raffling tickets to raise money for the installation of a bench at the Key West AIDS Memorial. Halfway toward its goal, the guild will inscribe the bench with tributes. Raffle tickets are available through the May 5 guild luncheon, and prizes include original photographs by Larry Blackburn Photography. Tickets are $10 each or six for $50, and are available at the visitors center at 808 Duval St. The raffle will take place at the May luncheon, and contestants do not have to be present to win.
