Five Keys contestants who vied for the Good Health Clinic’s Big Kahuna trophy raised $100,000  —  the first time the overall fundraising total hit six digits — for vital services provided to the uninsured and low-income in the community. With the bayside waters serving as a backdrop, some 120 community members enjoyed libations, drinks, music, raffles, a show from the dolphins and some dancing at the ninth annual Luau for Health ceremony at Dolphins Bayside Plus in Key Largo on Oct. 2. Orthopedic surgeon for Baptist Health South Florida, Derek Papp, hoisted the wooden Kahuna trophy, raising a record $46,055 for the clinic. Other contestants included former State Rep. and County Commissioner Holly Raschein; Suzi Youngberg, Upper Keys BPW president and rescue coordinator for MarrVelous Pet Rescue; Drew Grossman, chief executive officer of Mariner’s and Fishermens hospitals; Kristine Cox, general manager of Playa Largo.
