TAKE ME HOME: ADORABLE FACES ARE WAITING AT THE FKSPCA

Dating in the Keys can be a drag, but thankfully there are plenty of animals waiting for their perfect adoption “match” at the Florida Keys SPCA. Keys Weekly is thrilled each week to showcase some “furever” friends that are ready, waiting and available for adoption at the organization’s Marathon campus – complete with their best qualities, preferences and turnoffs to ensure the best fit.

From cats and dogs to Guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, reptiles and birds, the perfect addition to your family is waiting for you at one of the SPCA’s two campuses, in Key West and Marathon. The SPCA’s knowledgeable staff will help with advice and care tips while working to ensure a good fit between each pet and its people.

For those thinking of adding a member to their families, stop by the SPCA’s Christmas in July adoption event, featuring waived adoption fees and same-day adoptions, taking place at both campuses on Saturday, July 30. Key West’s event will run from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., while Marathon’s will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

See all the animals waiting for a home at fkspca.org. To contact the Marathon campus, call 305-743-4800 or visit the campus at 10550 Aviation Blvd.

Captain and Sarge
3-month-old male domestic shorthairs

Looking for: Someone to adopt the two of us together. We’re brothers, twins and the best of friends.

Turnoffs: Not a thing. We are well-socialized, purring, playful kittens. We love everyone and everything.

Mia
1-year-old female mixed breed

Looking for: A loving family to spoil me like the princess I am.

Turnoffs: I’m learning to play with other dogs, but I’m not great at it yet.

Jethro
2-year-old male domestic shorthair

Looking for: A place to call my own; I’ve never had a real home before.

Turnoffs: I used to be a street cat until my caregiver passed away. Now I’m loving domestic life, and I don’t want to be a street cat any more.

Find a friend at the Florida Keys SPCA

The Keys Weekly family loves animals as much as our friends at the Florida Keys SPCA do, and we’re honored each week to showcase some “furever” friends that are ready, waiting and available for adoption at the organization’s Key West campus.

From cats and dogs to Guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, reptiles and birds, the perfect addition to your family is waiting for you. The SPCA’s knowledgeable staff will help with advice and care tips while working to ensure a good fit between each pet and its people.

The SPCA’s Golden Paw program also provides special assistance with vet bills and medications for special-needs and older animals that require a little extra TLC.

Check these pages each week for just a few of the animals waiting for a home and see them all at fkspca.org.
