Loving the new location and upcoming schedule

The Studios of Key West was founded about eight years ago. In that short time, it has already outgrown its original location in the old Armory building, and is set to stage its first full season in the spacious, and completely renovated, art deco building at the corner of Simonton and Eaton streets.

“We are grateful for our roots, and the supporters who have brought us to this point, and we are excited to see where our new home will take us,” said TSKW Office Manager Lea Moeller, who has been with the studio for a year. “Key West deserves the best art scene in Florida, and this season is packed, with twice as many workshops as last year to keep Key West busy.”

It boasts about 500 current members, but membership isn’t required to partake of the numerous workshops and concerts and workshops. However, at $50, it’s a great way to support the arts.

The facility includes a 200-seat professional theater, the island’s largest gallery devoted to contemporary art, nine studios for practicing artists, and two dedicated classrooms, including a cutting edge digital media lab. With dedicated creative spaces for exhibitions, performances, instruction and art making, the new facilities offer a cultural platform that lives up to Key West’s creative potential.
