Luck be a lady (or 2) – Cranney Sisters spin the wheel again

A major hurricane couldn’t stop Jessica Cranney and Jill Cranney-Gage from raising funds for Take Stock in Children and local scholarships. The two sisters, who have co-chaired the Rotary Club of Key West’s “Casino Night” charity event for the past four years, say this year’s 007 James Bond-themed event is the best so far. It’s set for Saturday, April 14 at the Marriott Beachside.

The event originally was scheduled for the week Hurricane Irma drove through the Keys, said the sisters. “So many locals have been working so hard to get back on their feet,” said Jessica. “We always want this event to be fun, stress-free and a place where we can all come together and support Take Stock in Children and Rotary Scholarship funds,” said Jill.

The Cranney sisters and the Rotary Club of Key West have raised more than $50,000 with their casino-themed events. The banquet room of Marriott Beachside will be transformed into a casino floor — filled with blackjack, slots, roulette and raffle prizes.

“People travel down from the all over the Keys just to come support our amazing cause,” said Jessica. “Great social gathering and very low maintenance in terms of volunteers.”
