ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: KAMERON ROBERTS

Kameron Roberts, Junior
Key West Basketball

“Kameron led us in our comeback victory Tuesday night when it mattered most. He is a player that we as coaches know when the lights are shining bright, we can count on him to be locked in and ready to play.” – Dexter Butler, Conchs head coach.

Three-year letterman Kameron Roberts stepped up last week when the Conchs’ basketball team needed it the most. Roberts kept himself dialed in and helped lead Key West to a win despite being down by double digits in their opening game against Hernando High School. The junior’s leadership, on-court skills and composure helped earn him 21 points in Key West’s first victory of the season. He registered four offensive rebounds and was credited with two assists offensively. Roberts also racked up defensive stats, including six defensive rebounds, a pair of steals and three blocks. For his focus and strong play in Key West’s come-from-behind victory, Kameron Roberts is the Keys Weekly Athlete of the Week.
