Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys announces the final days to submit program screening forms for Gardenia Place, its newest affordable housing project in Islamorada. The program screening window closes Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.

Gardenia Place provides comfortable living in a community-minded atmosphere. Located next to Plantation Key School, this development aims to provide affordable and sustainable housing solutions for low- to very low-income buyers. Aspiring homeowners are encouraged to apply for a chance to own a home in this vibrant community.

Those interested may take advantage of this opportunity to learn if they qualify for the HFHUK Homebuyer Program. Program screening consists of examining three primary qualifications: housing, ability to pay and willingness to partner. The program offers an opportunity for a 0% interest, 30-year mortgage, where the monthly payment (inclusive of principle, taxes and insurance) is set not to exceed 30% of applicants’ income at time of closing.

To complete the program screening form, visit HFHUK’s website at www.habitatupperkeys.org. Applicants can find detailed information about the Homebuyer Program and complete the program screening form online. For those preferring paper forms, copies are available for pick up during business hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the HFHUK office, located at 98970 Overseas Highway in Key Largo. All program screening forms, whether paper or online, must be submitted before the 4 p.m. Oct. 31 deadline to be considered for home buying at Gardenia Place.
