Nervous excitement permeated the air as parents lined up in cars to say goodbye to their children, dropping them off before Plantation Key School’s gate closed to visitors around 7:30 a.m. Most students wore masks. Art teacher Marcia Starling, who is in her 19th year at PKS, stood by to hand children masks if they requested them and welcomed the kids back.
