To commemorate the Homeownership for All grant awarded to Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys, the Middle and Lower Keys Association of Realtors (MLKAR) came together on Sept. 20 for a day of community service to paint the foundation pilings at Bell Haven as part of their ongoing commitment to support Habitat. This charitable initiative is in collaboration with the Homeownership for All license plate grant program, aimed at fostering affordable homeownership in the Middle Keys community.

Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys has been a pillar of support for families in the Middle Keys, offering affordable homeownership and promoting a more sustainable community. Created by the Florida Realtors in 2006 and supported by MLKAR, the license plate grant program provides essential funding to help more families achieve the dream of owning their own homes through the sale of their specialty license plates.

“We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to own a safe and affordable home,” said Wayne Carter, CEO of MLKAR. “Our Realtor Volunteer Day event is a testament to our dedication to making a positive impact in the Middle Keys community. By partnering with Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys and the Homeownership for All license plate grant program, we aim to bring that dream closer to reality for many local families.”

Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys expressed gratitude for MLKAR’s volunteer hours and the continuous support of the Florida Realtors through the grant program.

“This collaboration strengthens our mission of creating affordable homeownership,” said Chris Todd Young, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys.
