The annual Holiday Festival of Trees sponsored by the Zonta Club of Marathon features 43 trees this year — from small to towering, from all natural driftwood creations to kid-friendly trees covered in Disney stuffed animals. There’s even one giant tree, cleverly rapped in red tulle to resemble Santa. The event helps the club help Marathon with special attention to women’s causes. Tickets are still available for the gala which features a prime rib dinner and music by the Moon Dogs.
Sherry Alana, left, is the chairperson of the service team putting on this event and Tara Morris is the vice president of the Zonta Club. For these women, the Festival of Trees is a labor of love to support the group’s mission.
Pat Biagi re-enacts the annual, eternal struggle to connect the pre-installed holiday lights on the artificial trees. She does it with grace and humor.
Each urchin features the name of a different Key on the Uniques by Kennedy Tree, which is actually of the palm variety.
Maylin Ibarra, left, and Yessenia Crespo sprinkle tinsel on the IOA Insurance Agency tree. It has a clever “Nightmare before Christmas” theme.
