Costumed canines and other furred and feathered critters and their human companions rocked the stage at Key West’s Fantasy Fest Pet Masquerade on Oct. 21, delighting the audience with an unpredictable competition at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater.
More than 30 entries entered, with this year’s Fantasy Fest theme of “Musical Icons and Iconic Musicals” inspiring costumes that paid tribute to musicals including “Oklahoma,” “Grease” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
Other standouts included two Guns N’ Roses tribute teams and a family of five humans with their two Newfoundlands, all portraying “Little Shop of Horrors”-inspired characters. Proceeds from the masquerade benefit the Monroe County Sheriff’s Animal Farm.
