A group of cyclists rode 125 miles, from North Key Largo to Mile Marker 0 in Key West for the children. On April 5, riders took off from Ocean Reef. Making several stops along the way, cyclists eventually made it down to Key West, to raise awareness and honor the work of the Florida Keys Children’s Shelter, which serves over 500 youths a year throughout the Keys. Serving Monroe County for over 30 years, the nonprofit organization continues to touch the lives of children through its no-cost programs, emergency shelter, group homes, community-based counseling and drop-in center for homeless and run-away youth.
