Wesley House Family Services will hold a Valentine’s Day gala, with dinner and dancing under the stars on Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Custom House Museum.
The Prime Movers will provide the tunes and Catered Affairs of Key West will prepare the dinner. A silent auction also will offer convenient online bidding.
Regular gala tickets are $100 per person and include a welcome glass of champagne. Guaranteed seating tickets are $175 per person and include a welcome glass of champagne and complimentary wine on the tables. Tickets are available at wesleyhouse.org/valentinesgala.
This year’s gala has a Baroque theme. (Think the Netflix series “Bridgerton” for inspiration.) Period attire or baroque-inspired ensembles are welcome; however, if you don’t want to dress as if you are attending an 1800s ball for the queen, then cocktail dresses and jackets without ties are perfectly acceptable.
Wesley House is a nationally accredited nonprofit dedicated to promoting and enhancing the safety, well-being and development of children by educating, supporting and meeting the needs of families. Agency programs include family support and prevention services for troubled families experiencing challenges and discord; full case management services when there is risk of harm to a child; foster and adoptive family recruitment, training and support services when it is necessary to remove a child from his or her family; Healthy Families-Monroe program promoting positive parent-child relationships for expectant and new families; and Inez Martin Child Development Center.
Funds raised during the gala benefit the programs of Wesley House. Some examples include tuition assistance and the hot lunch program for Inez Martin child care center, summer camps, sports equipment, prom dresses, orthodontics and extensive dental procedures, expenses to cover kids who age out of foster care, rent assistance to unify families, clothing, and gas assistance for children in foster care.
