A strong running attack propelled the Florida Christian Patriots (4-3) to a 23-6 victory against the Coral Shores Hurricanes on senior night at Barley Stadium on Nov. 6. The Canes’ lone touchdown came in the second quarter from junior running back Osvaldo Vega, who scored on a 15-yard run. It was set up by a 25-yard run on the prior play by junior running standout Chris Cooper. On the defensive side of the ball, freshman defensive end Isaac Holmes recorded two tackles behind the line, while senior cornerback Jackson Hilson recorded an interception. Sophomore cornerback Alexander Gutierrez recorded a sack. The Canes (3-3) are on the road to face Avant Garde Academy Sharks (1-3) on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
