Marathon graduates Aliyah Sims and Xavier McKnight invite the public to join them for a performance that will highlight what they have learned in their first few months in New York City at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. The performance is set for Saturday, Dec. 27 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to see and hear what these two talented members of our community have been up to in New York.

“The Keys community have been so supportive of our dreams to pursue careers in the theater, this is a small way for us to share how amazing this opportunity has been for us,” said Xavier.

“Beyond the financial support we have received, knowing that some many people are rooting for us has been an exceptional gift,” said Aliyah. “School has been a tremendous challenge both mentally and physically and sometimes, knowing that all of you believed in us, helps me get through the day.”

Aliyah and Xavier will be performing songs from shows including “Avenue Q”, “Wicked,” “Evita,” “Rent,” “Heathers,” “Cats” and many more. They will also be singing some holiday classics and sharing stories about their experiences in class and in finding their way through New York City.

Suggested donation for this benefit performance is $10. Tickets will be sold at the door only. For more information, contact Rita Irwin at ritairwin@hotmail.com.
