“John is an unbelievable competitor who comes to practice and works hard every single day.” – Ed Holly, Coral Shores football coach

Hurricane sophomore John Oughton came to play on Oct. 3. The talented running back took little time showing the fruits of his hard work in the weight room and at practice, running for a touchdown on his first carry of the night. Oughton had two more TDs and rushed for 157 yards on eight rushes. He also reeled in a pass and was unstoppable on offense in Coral Shores’ rivalry win over Marathon. Head coach Ed Holly called Oughton’s performance his best this season, and the hard-working sophomore likely has more games like last week’s in his bright future. For his undaunted work ethic and coming up big when it counted the most, John Oughton is the Keys Weekly Athlete of the Week.
