What do you enjoy about being on the tennis team? When you join a team it’s like you are in a family, everyone has your back. I like the people you meet and the connections I’ve made.

How long have you been playing on the team? I’ve been playing only since this year. I just wanted to try something new and have some fun while playing it. I had played tennis in gym class once and thought it was really fun. It reminded me of when I played ping-pong with my brother when we were younger. When my friend Anthony Machado recommended that I join the team, I took him up on the offer, and I am really glad that I did.

Describe one of your best moments in athletics. I had a moment where I felt really proud and impressed with myself. It was against a really advanced player from the Key West team. The match was almost over and I was down (0-7). Right then at the end, I pulled through and scored (2-8). It felt really good to make that come back.

Coach Richard says…  Coach Richard is an advice giver. He does a great job knowing what’s wrong with your game, and does an even better job helping you to make it right. He is definitely one of the best coaches I have ever had.
