With colleges either closed for a recent week or offering the freedom of online attendance, plenty of students found time to escape to the Southernmost City.

The sunburned frenzy packed Smathers Beach during the day and Duval Street at night, with police and code compliance officers closely monitoring the crowds and enforcing the city’s mask mandate. Barricades were erected on some nights as needed to eliminate vehicles on Duval Street and give the nighttime crowds room to spread out.

Meanwhile, U.S. 1 saw an influx of motorcycles making their way to Key West as hundreds of two-wheeled visitors extended their Daytona Bike Week vacation to include a southern swing.
