A school record was set during the Coral Shores track and field team meet at Coral Shores on Friday, March 6. On the boys side, Riley Oakley set a new record in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes and 51 seconds. The previous record was 4 minutes and 59 seconds. Oakley also came in first in the 800 meter at 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Other shining performers included the girl’s 4×100 team of Maya Gadea, Terran Clayton, who also won the 400-meter run, Alexis Terry, who also won the 200-meter, and Taniyah Cooper; Riley Dobson and Javi Correa in the shot put; Simon Gutierrez and Ellie Snodgrass in the 3,200-meter run; and Javier Hernandez in the 400 meter. The boys and girls team came out on top of Pace and Somerset, with the girls scoring 66 points and the boys scoring 81 points.
