For 38 participants, the evening of July 18 was filled with wine, relaxation and kitten snuggles as Hawks Cay Resort hosted Wine Down Kitten Yoga. Donating the event space, wine and charcuterie, the resort added $1,000 to funds raised through registration, totaling $2,140 given to the SPCA. ‘There were plenty of kittens roaming the room during yoga, which made for some pretty great moments, and everyone seemed to have a fantastic time,’ said marketing manager Abbey Jones. ‘It’s fundraisers like this that allow us to put on our low-cost vaccine and spay/neuter clinics for the community,’ added SPCA event coordinator Amina Nunn. ‘We rely heavily on local businesses like Hawks Cay and donations in order to be able to continue our efforts.’ Photos contributed
