This Week’s Dive Report
Once again, conditions were amazing! This is the stuff summer Keys dreams are made of! The great viz remained, and the seas were flat and calm. It was a perfect way to ease through the week.
We had two big dive shops with us: Scooba Shack and H2O Divers. We took them to the wreck of the Bibb and on a drift dive along Conch Wall. When conditions are as ideal as they have been, these dives are particularly amazing because there is so much to see. Details of wrecks come into view, even deep underwater. Drift dives are also fun because you get to see so much of the reef.
This week is also lobster mini-season. Every year, this is a time when our waters swell with locals and visitors trying to get some bugs. When viz and weather cooperate, those numbers just boom. Stay safe if you’re out there diving and enjoying.
Next Week’s Dive Report
This week keeps the good times rolling. It looks spectacular out there, with low winds and lots of sunshine. We are the Sunshine State, after all.
Conservation Update
We continue to help with I.CARE coral plantings on Islamorada reefs. It is a community effort, made light by many hands. The corals we plant help to restore critical reef habitat for animals like lobsters and fish. By building back the baseline, we help to ensure there will be more Lobster Mini-Seasons, fish to catch, and critters to see underwater.
Conservation Tip
Carry a net with you on the boat so that you can pick up any trash you find floating on the surface. Secure it in the boat so it doesn’t fly away, and properly dispose of it when you get to shore.

I.CARE plantings will take place on Saturday at Islamorada Dive Center.
