Young athletes at Key Largo School stepped onto a new playing surface on March 8, as school board officials and the community celebrated a new field. The $1.6 million project included a resodding, new infield and dugouts, fencing, drainage improvements and combination football/soccer goals. The school board approved the work, which was led by Ajax Building Company. The new field complex will be used for softball, baseball and other sports while serving athletes across the Upper Keys. “This is a dream come true for so many,” said school board member Sue Woltanski.
