Around 600 runners and walkers took to Jewfish Creek Bridge for the half marathon and 4K run/walk during the 10th annual First State Bank Key Largo Bridge Run. Runners and walkers started near Gilbert’s Resort and trekked U.S. 1 over the bridge to the finish line at Rowell’s Waterfront Park. Derek Morgan, 34, of Fort Lauderdale, won the overall men’s half-marathon with a time of 1 hour and 31 minutes. Miami resident Caroline Klosowski, 35, posted a time of 1 hour and 53 minutes to win the women’s division. In the event’s 4-mile division, the overall men’s winner was 15-year-old Colin Chivers of Davenport, Florida, with a time of 26 minutes and 26 sconds. Julie Kellett, 35, of Belmont, Massachusetts, placed first in the women’s division with a time of 28 minutes and 36 seconds.
