The state of Florida may have erased Key West’s rainbow crosswalks last fall, but the island’s Pride celebration proved some colors never fade.
Key West Pride, from June 3-7, included pool parties, boat trips, drag performances and a street fair. It all culminated on Sunday, June 7 with the annual Pride Parade on Duval Street.
“Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke up, danced, laughed, loved and helped us celebrate this year’s theme, ‘The Color of the Island,’” Pride organizers from the nonprofit Gay Key West posted on social media. “Pride is more than a week of events. It’s a reminder of the vibrant, diverse and welcoming community that makes Key West so special. Whether you attended one event or joined us all week long, you helped make this Pride one for the history books.”
