Key West traveled to 2A Miami Palmetto on March 12. Despite losing 14-8, the Lady Conchs had a solid showing taking on the Panthers squad from a larger school.

Kaitlyn Piloto scored four goals and Taylor Gibson, Mavis Bishop, Eisley Whitehead and Colbie Turner scored one apiece. Whitehead and Gibson each picked up three ground balls for the Conchs while Bishop caused two turnovers and won seven draws.

Courtney Grabus and Olivia Moore split time in goal, combining for nine saves to keep Key West in it until the end.

On March 15, the visiting St. Augustine Yellow Jackets stung the Conchs 17-4. The Yellow Jackets overwhelmed Key West in the first half, then applied pressure to the end. Key West heads into spring break 4-6 with four games to go before districts.

The Coral Shores Lady ’Canes did not see any action last week. Their next scheduled game is March 25, when they travel to Key West to take on the Lady Conchs.
