White Street Chiropractic’s new top doc and owner

Denise Lieske had endured a stroke and the cold winters of Lonsdale, Minnesota, her home of 20 years, were causing her to suffer. Searching for a solution, her beloved husband and chiropractor, Dr. Bruce Lieske came across White Street Chiropractic for sale last March and by July they were taking a chance on Key West as a solution.

Leaving their former practice in the capable hands of their son, the Lieskes brought a lifetime of chiropractic experience to Key West and were the perfect replacement for retiring Ross Williams.

With a jovial wit and warm demeanor, Lieske offers traditional chiropractic care, nutritional supplements and the only K Laser treatment in Key West (a painless procedure that can reduce swelling, improve circulation and reduce pain). One of his specialties is advanced training in pediatric care.

“I have treated patients from 3 years old to 97 years old. I also work extensively with advanced spinal trauma. I even treat ailments such as TMJD (Tempura Mandibular Jaw Dysfunction) or something as simple as hives,” said Lieske. He said he is ready to treat whatever may be the problem and wants to help.

Key West has been a new adventure for the Lieskes who came from a town of only 3,500 people. They have already joined the Sunset Rotary, The Lions Club — they have been Lions for 17 years — and the Chamber Guild. They volunteered for AIDS Help’s Taste of Key West this year and spend every Friday night at the Bottle Cap Lounge supporting and getting to know the variety of local charities.

“People here are nicer and embrace you easier than in the north. The variety of people is amazing and it is cool to hear everyone’s stories,” said Denise, who doubles as the receptionist, and is doing much better physically in our tropical warmth. “There are so many restaurants, we are just eating our way through Key West and loving it.”

When asked about the difference between Lonsdale and Key West, Lieske immediately laughed, “I had never heard of a ‘locals discount’ before.”

Everyone in Lonsdale probably just knew the Lieskes and soon, everyone in Key West will too.

“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest patients in the care of the human frame, in proper diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” — Dr. Bruce Lieskes recites the motto of Thomas E. Edison.
