The Keys Weekly is proud to feature local middle-school students and their answers to some fun questions in our Kids Weekly segment. Instead of asking about their favorite teacher or school subject, we want to know what superpower they’d most like to have, their favorite YouTube channel and the hardest part about being a kid today.

Activities: Dance, piano, reading and bike reading.
What superpower would you most like to have, and why? Flying, because I would feel the air and the wind and see wildlife and the world.
If you could make a rule for the whole world to follow, what would it be? To be kind and not violent and to support other people.
What makes you laugh? My friends and family.
When do you think a kid is old enough to have a cell phone? 10, 11 or 12.
What’s your favorite YouTube Channel? I don’t watch YouTube.
The hardest part about being a kid is … That, for me, my schedule is filled up and really busy and sometimes it is hard to manage my time and be able to fit in practicing my piano and doing my chores.
The hardest part about being an adult must be … the responsibility. Everything you have to do and pay bills and manage.When I grow up, I want to … be a general surgeon because I want to help and save people.

School: Sigsbee Charter School

Activities: I play piano. I’ve been taking lessons since I was 5. I’m also a part of this organization called Sea Cadets. Through that I’ve gotten scuba certified, boat licensed and flown a small plane (along with a pilot).
What superpower would you most like to have, and why? To talk to animals.
If you could make a rule for the whole world to follow, what would it be? If I could make a rule for the whole world to follow I would make it so you’re not allowed to abuse animals.
What makes you laugh? My dog when he tries to chase his tail.
When do you think a kid is old enough to have a cell phone? I think a kid’s old enough to have a cell phone when they can pay for it themselves.
What’s your favorite YouTube channel? My favorite YouTube channel is Liam Thompson. He is really funny and makes crazy stuff (like the magic mirror from Shrek).
The hardest part about being a kid is … moving everywhere.
The hardest part about being an adult must be … finding time to have fun and work.
When I grow up, I want to … be a vet and open up my own veterinary clinic.
