As kids hit the hallways on Aug. 12, they’re not the only ones getting used to their new classrooms. There are four new faces on the teaching staff at MMHS this year – including a new assistant principal – and the Keys Weekly is proud to introduce them to our community.

JANELLE VILITSKI

MHS exceptional student education (ESE)

Where did you get your degree? Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania.

How long have you lived in the Keys? One month – we just moved here this summer.

How would you describe your teaching style? Fun, festive, firm and flexible.

What is your special talent that no one knows about? I have deep empathy for others and can typically sense and understand how people are feeling in different situations without them saying it.    

What are your hobbies? Bike riding, hiking, reading and baking.

SEAN CAMBRIDGE

Assistant principal

Where did you get your degree? A bachelor’s in criminal justice with minors in psychology and sociology from Troy State University, a master’s degree in curriculum development and instruction from the University of Phoenix and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of West Florida.

How long have you lived in the Keys? Eight years.

How would you describe your teaching style? Supportive. 

What is your special talent that no one knows about? I understand Pig Latin as language, but do not speak it.

What are your hobbies? Slowpitch travel softball and paddleboarding.

MICHAEL SAICH

9th grade environmental science, honors environmental science, honors biology

Where did you get your degree? The University of Northern Colorado.

How long have you lived in the Keys? Three weeks. I moved from Naples, Florida.

How would you describe your teaching style? Student-centered and hands-on discovery when possible.

What is your special talent that no one knows about? I can cook.

What are your hobbies? My hobbies: exploring, world travel, fast motorcycles and cars, along with almost anything science-related.

KAY SAICH

Geometry/Honors Geometry

Where did you get your degree? The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

How long have you lived in the Keys? We moved to Marathon on July 8, 2026 – two weeks!

How would you describe your teaching style? I would classify my teaching style as a hybrid model – some demonstration and some facilitation to promote student-centered learning when possible.

What is your special talent that no one knows about? I am a thespian!

What are your hobbies? Travel and cooking.
