Nominees for Coral Shores High School’s homecoming king and queen were announced recently in lead up to the crowning during the football game on Friday, Oct. 15. In total, five males are up for homecoming king and five females vying for the queen’s crown.
Up for homecoming king and queen are:
Joey Caputo, football player who likes to go fishing, and Ava Swanson, lacrosse and volleyball player.
Jake Craig and Stella Court are Cannettes. Craig is a four-time choreographer, and Court has danced since she was 3.
Brian “Zippy” Lesko is the ’Canes quarterback. He’s worn No. 3 since the start of his football career. Lexi Kumar is a cheerleader and lacrosse player who also serves as student council president.
Dominick Monteagudo is a captain on the football team. Zoe Myers is a volleyball player who was born in Puerto Rico.
Zander Wolgram is a football player, weightlifter and track participant who wants to become a law enforcement officer following community college. Harmony Holmquist is a tennis standout who played on the traveling team during her high school career.
A homecoming parade is planned before the game at 5 p.m. on the Old Highway. There will also be a “Cane-ival” event with games and activities for all ages between the parade and football game. The crowning will take place during halftime of the Oct. 15 game against True North.
