SUMMER PARTY PLAYLISTS BY DJ SANARIS & THE WOMEN OF KEYS WEEKLY – KEYS WOMAN MAGAZINE

In keeping with our new tradition of providing soundtracks for our magazines, the Keys Weekly reached out to DJ Sanaris, winner of the 2021 Bubba: Key West People’s Choice Award for Best DJ in town. Sanaris compiled some of his favorites, based on the two women that impact his life and daily musical choices — his wife, Vikki Peacock, and Alexa.

“As a DJ, I’m always looking for new music, mixes or sounds. Whether checking out a live show at the local bar, listening to tunes on the radio or a streaming service, or choosing tunes for Vikki while she gets ready for work as operations manager at Sloppy Joe’s,” Sanaris said. “For 15 years now, she’s been dancing, singing and rapping in the mirror to the songs I would choose before we headed to work together. Then Alexa came along. I shared my Spotify and Tidal Accounts with “her” and Vikki no longer needed my DJ skills for her pre-work routine. I had been replaced with a robotic woman. But the music hasn’t stopped in our house and never will.

“The dancing in front of our mirror has turned into full-blown routines. The song selections are great also. Whatever mood Vikki needs to be in, Alexa gets her there. There’s nothing like walking into a house with a high-energy, Italian woman bouncing around to Crime Mob’s “Knuck if you Buck” or Cardi’s “Bo-dak Yellow” followed by Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off.” By the time, “They Call Me Alexander Hamilton” echoes through our house, we’re ready to take on the world. Here’s hoping this playlist helps get you into the right mentality before taking on the challenges of your day, whatever they may be.”

To keep the hits coming, we also asked the women of Keys Weekly, including the three local ladies we’ve profiled in the coming pages, which songs are guaranteed to get them on the dance floor. We’ve turned that into an easily accessible playlist as well. From timeless classics and ‘80s favorites to the hottest hits of today, scan the QR codes for both playlists and let the music move you.
